ok, so i've been checkin out these forums for a couple of days now and i have not run over tha answers i am looking for, if i post this in tha wrong place, please dont throw a fit ...i have a few questions. so i just bought an 87 turbo targa 5 spd.. 167,500 on tha clock :-D...i bought it with a supposedly blown engine... so when i took it home...we banged on tha starter a LOT...and we got it started...turns out, tha fool b4 me, just didn't know it was tha starter...tha HG is fine, and there is no rod knock. as many, i want to turn up the boost...so i am looking for a metal headgasket. http://www.hksusa.com/mycars/mycars_produc...ctsformycar.asp . if u scroll 2 headgaskets, u will c there are 5 of them...from 140 bux to 380 bux. wut MM do u guys suggest? i just wanna turn tha boost up, nothing crazy...and whats tha difference between a bead and a stopper type gasket? they say that in tha diff ones tehre.
then i was wondering about taillights...so i kno that 89 + have diff spoilers and taillights...i am already ordering a spoiler...but tha taillights, tha 3 pc vs wut my car comes with, are they a direct bolt on?
FINALLY, does anyone know where i can get 93+ turbo rims in silver from?
thanx alot for your answers

the facelift rear lights are not quite a direct fit. you have to drill a few holes that are not currently there. and while you have it apart, make sure that you check everything to make sure that it's not leaking, and get either new seals for the lights, or stick them on using a water sealant, as mk3's have a tendancy to leak around the rear lights. also have to redrill mounting point sfor the rear wing as well, the only points that line up are the middle mounts, the edge ones are not in the right place. you also need to drill two holes from underneath to be able to get the nuts onto the very edge mounting points that go down through the lid of the boot. and the side pieces need new holes drilled. make sure you fit the centre piece first, then line up the side ones to match that, otherwise you get them catching.

as for the head gasket, if your replacing it anyway, and plan on big things, then get a MHG, but make sure that block and head are properly skimmed, as tolerances on MHG's are a lot less. if you're not really going to be going big, even including a t04e wheel upgrade on the ct26, then just go for a standard toyota HG, and ARP's. keep everything maintained, and this should be all you need.
