GTE into GE
ok i have a 87 n/a and i would like to put a 87 7mgte with wireing harness and ecu in what problems might i run into like with ignition stuff and otehr wiring. i just want it to go smothly and have a wealth of knowledge before the transformation.

yes thank you i want to buy a 7mgte and take out my practically new 7mge then sell both my 7mge's (one with serious rod knock) to buy new parts for my gte

i'm not sure about usdm but from what i can tell in jdm (pretty similar i should imagine) you need to just rewire one plug at the fusebox as they use a different type of plug but wire colours are the same
and do the resistor change in the tacho i'm sure someone here has a link to that somewhere

I know about the tacho - thats covered under the conversion notes page i pasted above - but i thought you had to use the whole 7M-GTE loom because it uses a coil pack and different ignition?

of course hence you need to change the body harness plug as 7mgte harness don't fit 7mge body harness
