Ok so here is my set up top to bottom (minus my cold air scoop, its too hard to take pictures of and I didnt feel like taking it all out to show ya's)
So like I said you need a piece of 3'' steel pipe 13inches long (mine was 14 inches and its too long, but I was too lazy to get out a hacksaw and cut it) your gonna butcher your stock system so be careful, make sure you want to do this before you start as there is no going back once you start! to get started take your old stock system out and remove the two hose pieces from the air chamber. Take the top rubber elbow and fit it over the 3" pipe piece. Its gonna be a really tight fit and you want to be careful not to split it. I found that using a hair dryer to warm up the rubber real good gave it more give and reduces the chance that you will split it trying to get it on. now take the other piece of hose and cut it about 1 to 1.5 inches below the hose fitting that is on the underside of it. make sure you have enough of it to go over your AFM box but not so short that the fitting ends up blocked when its stretched over the AFM. If in doubt cut it long and test fit everything first. then adjust as needed. Its also going to be a tight fit over the AFM, but using the hair dryer and some screwdrivers you can force it over kind of like doing a bicycle tire, again take your time and be careful not to split it. Put your filter on your AFM, fit the 3" pipe to the elbow now stretched over your AFM, (you should now have a complete system, from the top elbow all the way to the filter) and fit the whole unit onto your Throttle body. Tighten all your hose clamps if you havent already. You will likely need to bend the mount bar for the AFM to make it line up and bolt to the inner fender, but it should be pretty close at this point. Done! one clean nice intake system for next to no cost. I used steel wool on my pipe to shine it up some, but you could paint it you wanted to as well. Here are the pics:

I got my air filter from Autozone, its just a filter so I really dont see the point in paying for K&N. I got the kind that has the inverse cone opening at the top cause I wanted to duct in fresh air from the front of the car.
Long story short I consider myself a master of low budget mods. for my outside air duct I used various pieces I found in junkyards from stock air intakes. The piece that "scoops" the air is off a late 80's ford Truck. Its flat and has a hole already in the flat end of it where it mounts on the Ford, so I was able to screw that underneath my front bumper (basically to the plastic cover that seals the right side under the headlight) then with some other pieces I found I connected that through the oval opening that the original air box gets air from. I noticed a difference in throttle responce and can hear my filter sucking when I thump the throttle...Im quite pleased with it.

i hate to ask so many questions but did your filter from autozone come with the mount to mount it to your AFM? and was the filter made for the supra or is it one of those universal ones?

The filter is universal and I had to buy the MAF adapter there too. I forget what I paid for it, but the filter was the mid priced one, and they only had it in Blue. Thus began my color scheme...lol
