My botch job
I tried the pipe idea and scrapped it the same day because the pipe was so hot and I couldn't find a heat blanket anywhere so this is still a work in progress for me.
My box is sheet aluminum cut and bent to shape, held together with pop rivets and covered with leftover fiberglass insulation pieces from a building under constuction that they used to insulate the CAC. I still have to either cover the top or change the rubber up top to seal with the hood closed. kind of a hack job first effort. Jeez guess I need to clean the engine bay up some. the air moving through the pipe doesnt stick around long so I doubt it has much time to heat up due to heat transfer.

wussap i jus got my heatshield done,, and to tell you the truth ist nothing short of ghetto,, but, its really functional, and i did my best to make it look good,,
the only materials that i used was a plastic water bucket, and those insulations that they put in car windows to deflect heat,, cuz they actually work pretty good, i checkd it already got pics here and waiting to get critized (weezl??)

finished
nice job finishing the heatshield Supra2NR it's a good idea. you really changed your intake around in the past few days. the tems covers look good too.
i decided to go with the air duct and the cheap inverse (whatever its called) air filter for mine in the end. see attached pics. for now...no metal piping. i can feel the difference after i put the filter on. i think the air duct has a big part on it also. for the duct i used this stretchy/bendy tubing from home depot. it was hard getting it in but worth it. Well, I dont really have much to say except your camera phone blows...and sucks....it sucks and blows at the same time...Im sorry, but it does, Im sorry
as far as your air box goes, I wasnt impressed with your parts list, but hey Ive used stranger things and made them work out real nice in the end. In fact tomorrow if the rain holds off, Im going to build a new front lip out of vinyl baseboard material from Home Depot. I built one of these before for one of my Celicas and they come out suprisingly nice considering what its made out of. I plan to put some extra fog lights in it (mostly for show since they are only going to be about 3-4 inches off the ground. I will make a new thread dedicated to it. For now, I guess I will say while you arent going to win any show and shine prizes for your air box, if it works and you like it, thats all that matters.

Im not sure I criticized you at all. You and I just have different ideas of whats cool or not. You made an air box out of an old bucket, I said if you like it...great.
I got stalled on my front lip today, cause Im just tired today, and half the metal brackets I bought broke in half when I tried to bend them, so I gotta go back to the hardware store tomorrow...just dont feel like it today.

What in the world is a wind diffuser?
I am using vinyl wall base moulding to make my front lip. If I ever get back to it...
