Default 1988 supra engine rebuild

I'm looking into getting my friends toyota supra its a 1988 and it has the 7MGE in it. he says he will sell it to me for $300 the only thing is it needs a engine rebuild. Also he has a HKS turbo kit for it wit a HKS intercooler. He says he just has to get rid of it. I was wondering if any of you could point me in the right direction for a place to order a engine rebuild kit?

www.toyotaworld.com
^ That would be a dealer that sells parts at great/discounted prices.

If I remember correctly
An engine gasket set will be like 310
Rings maybe like 110
Bearings for the rods and mains for like 180

Toyota factory parts too.
That is what I would do.

Well, I have never heard of a kit that had rings and gaskets and bearings all in one package for the MKIII...it may exist, but I never heard of one.

As far as being ripped off, the quotes I gave you are roughly about 1/3rd off of what you would have to pay if you went to your local dealer.
I am thrilled Champion Toyota hooks us up with those discounts.

Autozone has a master rebuild kit with pistons gaskets rings bearing and all that jazz but it runs like 700 bucks had to buy one one only reason I know and while you get the motor apart replace the valve guide seals will save heart ache. also make sure you put the head gasket with the this side up, up or you will block the pcv port going through the block thus make a nightmare for yourself mine was marked wrong and beleive me never gonna do that again just look at the two gaskets side by side and make sure they go back on the same way. and if you have any questions I have been and out of a 7MGE 7MGTE and 2JZGTTE they are pretty close in looks when you get them apart except for obvious differences.
