Auto Tranny Slipping!! whats your opinion?
Hey, today, my tranny slipped. If I stepped on it at all, it would just slip, as if in neutral. it goes fine if I dont step on it, only slips when I get over about 3000 rpms....my tranny fluid SEEMS to be ok, but I just got home and checked it, with the car off. Does the car need to be running when I check my tranny fluid?
Also, does anyone have any Ideas what this could be? I was hoping to do a 5 speed swap, should this be a hint to look into it sooner? Thanks Chris |

whatever you do, dont keep driving it, Because youll burn your trans clutches up. Yes the car needs to be runnign to check trans fluid. It is probably low. And if it isnt low it probably has a clogged up torque converter. Id take it to a shop and have them flush it and change the filter. And get redline ATF while your at it. And the swap depends on waht you have already lol. Just need all the parts. But the bolt holes for everything are already there and the driveshaft and everything is the same length. I hear its pretty easy
