Default Auto Tranny Slipping!! whats your opinion?

Hey, today, my tranny slipped. If I stepped on it at all, it would just slip, as if in neutral. it goes fine if I dont step on it, only slips when I get over about 3000 rpms....my tranny fluid SEEMS to be ok, but I just got home and checked it, with the car off. Does the car need to be running when I check my tranny fluid?

Also, does anyone have any Ideas what this could be? I was hoping to do a 5 speed swap, should this be a hint to look into it sooner?

Thanks

Chris
