why is my alarm not working?
ever since the code 22 thread my car alarm has not been working at all. i can lock the door and the security light will not flash. to test it i get out of the car lock it and unlock it from inside (thru the window) and the alarm doesnt go off (it should when entering the car without the key).
what am i missing? anybody with stock alarms know anything? because its been working fine before the first problem. thanks |

I wish I knew something about the stock alarms cause mine doesnt work either...except that one time in a blue moon where it just decides to go off for absolutely no apparent reason scaring the crap out of me and the neighbors.

Door switch?
Mine failed due to the drivers door switch so I ended up bypasing it completely just so I could start my car.
I also earlier took the plug off the extra horn cause it also scared the crap outta me when I popped the hood one time got out of the car, locked the doors snd then opened the hood the rest of the way and it went off. Pretty embarrasing getting caught opening your own hood. Anywho the drivers door is what gets the most use so I'd change that swith first if your gonna kep the alarm. |

alright...my car does start and run, it's just the alarm that wont work. could you describe the switch that is on the drivers side for me?
any other suggestions about the alarm are wanted ya we all have our embarrasing moments with our alarms. sometimes time it just goes off for no apparent reason when i try to unlock my door. everyone looks at me in the parking lot with a car alarm going off. not sure why it does that sometimes.pretty funny. |
