tranny o/d issue
whats up people new here so let me say whats up 1st..
having some problems with the overdrive in my auto tranny.. just replaced the old one with a rebuilt. everything is moving ok (as in no grinding) but when i switch to OD the car looses maybe 70% of its power and the o/d light flashes but this only happens every so often ive checked the sensors, grounds. even the mass air and i have no clue as to whats going on thanks in advance |
this is the diagnosis system for the auto tranny, go thru the steps and let us know what codes ya got :)

what i get for paying $700 american for a car who's owner didnt do a freaking thing to keep it running had the car a little over 3 months here's what i've replaced.. tranny heater line line coming out of the radiator headers/exhaust mass air assm. took off venom sticker on an all stock car =/ whats STILL wrong dash lights go out when headlamps are on(fuses good) headlights wont stay bright targa top is leaking 6 way driver seat is only a 2 way car smells like stale beer and a pine tree freshener and my apologies for not including the year. its an 88 i miss my teg =[ but the supra will be a killer in about 2 years =] |
ok this is starting to piss me off... did the self diag.
just gave me an "error" message took off the bumper cover, and both fenders looking for a short/scrumped up wire nothing all grounds are good i just got on the phone with a friend told me to check the vacuum lines... i have no diagram to go by so heres whats happening extreme loss of power under heavy exeleration(both in overdrive and normal) sometimes at idle the car goes from 900 rpm's to almost stalling out temp gauge goes from the normal temp to no temp what so ever but car is not running hot AT ALL and as said above ive checked the fuses they are good.. im thinking i should reset the ecu but im kinda scared to dive in that deep im stumped to this... |
