Idle Position Sensor Problem
If I have a Idle Position sensor problem would that cause my turbo to no spool, over spool, or cause my Supra to just turn off while i drive it. If anyone knows what this would do if it doesnt work.

i had a problem with my TPS and all it did was raise my NOx output so i didnt pass emissions. the cutting off sounds like an intake problem. maybe you afm, or the intake tube from it to the throttle bottle. i know from experience that if that disconnects that the engine shuts off

I checked to make sure that the intake wasnt clogged and i thought that the AFM could be the problem and i just bought a new one saturday and it didnt make a difference. Its when i make boost that it starts to hesistate and not want to go. I moved the idle sensor a bit and then it worked for a trip down the street and on the way home it didnt.

Check your codes first and let us know what you find..
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/librar...fi/FI_023.html Try describing your problem better.. 1) Is your turbo not spooling or is it over spooling? 2) describe when and how the car "turns off" on you. For example: (after starting is a given), after boosting, after you let off the gas at the stop light, when the car is cold, when its warm? More info please.. TPS (throttle position sensor) or ISC (Idle speed controller), both should not cause boost issues but can effect idle and or base timing/performance.. |
