Code 25 and 26
1 Attachment(s)
Well to start I had this JDM engine installed here in the local scrapyard by the afghani's about 6 months ago (they said they don't like the taleban btw). I've allways had a slightly rough idle and lately the idle did the old up and down routine to 1800 down to norm constantly. I changed all the intake manifold gaskets except the ISC valve which I had to make myself as they company here didn't have one.
Well to make a long story short, none of the above fixed the problem. 25 and 26 started about a week ago and came on twice. The attatched photo shows the culprits. They are my old injector packings that were installed by the taleban militia and as you can see the 3 on the bottom were pinched during installation. I showed them in the pic upside down to better show their distortion. I put in the new packings and now it runs smooth and has a bit more power. |
yep! that would be a problem.

*revives dead thread* My car started stuttering on acceleration and running rough on idle. So I did a diag, and pulled up codes 25-26. Running to rich, and too lean. Anyway I searched the board and found this post. Before I tear into this and replace the seals on the injectors, is there anything else I should do or check while I have em out?

What I did with my injectors while they were out was to power them open and use a can of carb cleaner while they were open to clean them out. You just have to take a spare plug with a couple of feet of wire and hook them up to a battery to energize the injector open. For the carb cleaner use the kind that has the straw and wrap a little tape on it so it seals at the injector opening and spray till it comes out in a good pattern, usually only takes a few seconds. And by al means use goggles when you do this so you don't get any in your eyes!
Also a faulty ox sensor might cause this too. |
