codes 51 and 71
well, i adjusted my tps, and code 51 went away, but so did code 71 (EGR system malfunction). the only thing i had done to 71 was change the temp sensor. however, i did that before i adjusted my tps and code 71 stayed (yes i remembered to erase the code). in fact, i got the same thing on two different occasions. but now that i fixed 51, 71 went away. how can a maladjusted tps throw off an EGR code?

I am not sure it can, but code 51 can effect a few other things like base timing.
I would install the daig jumper and verify your timing is at 10 degrees for starters.. |
