Just picked up a new supra.

used to have an 88 MR2 Turbo so im no stranger to engine work.


My question

Piston/Rod Specs

2J vs 7M

I've always read the Pistons in the 2J Turbo are "safe" up to 700ish hp.

What is the max anyones run on "the Street" with the stock 7mgte pistons/rods.

What are the weak parts of this motor (aside from the head gasket).

i dunt even think thats there's gonna b any competition in between those engines, 2jz hands down all the way

I realize that.

I was more or less asking for hp stats on stock internals for the 7mgte.

i dunt know exactly how much hps my boy had when he changed his internals, but he did it when he was pushing close to 300 hp and he was running about 10 - 11 lbs of boost
