oversize head gasket
does anyone one if Toyota dealers carry or even sell an oversize head gasket,
if not where can I get one ...please ..any websites will be greatly apreciated... also I need to know what website is the best to order ARP studs.....!! thanks guys... |

That's very old data, head gaskets. Check in the FAQS section under Newbie check these sites, and "stores on the net" to find what you need.

heh i have a funny story about toyota and oversize hg's
needed one for mine, called up toyota.. asked them for one toyota> oh we don't sell them me> so what do you do when an engine has been machined too much toyota> we get custom ones made me> but the dude that made me a custom one is shite!! and he's the recommended guy toyota> well.. we also put two hg's together me WTF! LOL

Parts Guys Aren't mechanics
If it was a 'parts guy', then he was probably blowing smoke out is ass cause he really has no clue about engine work.
Most parts people don't know how the car parts actually fit on the car. Also, that's why I won't ever use a "shim head gasket". Some people have 'shimmed' the headgasket and gotten away with it. I personnaly like a 'one piece ring' at the combustion chamber mating point. A shim is likely to leak. I bet the parts guy would say yes, if you asked if it would be OK to use FIPG material instead of the headgasket.

I used that stuff to make a head gasket for my lawnmower, And it ran, But i noticed at night it was shooting fire out of the head. lol.
