car does not smoke and the tick does seem like a valve tick it sounds like air shoots through a tube so idk what it could be

hmm, Do you mean air shoots through a tube is the ticking sound? if not, Then id def say you have a boost leak. Replace all your intake tubing. And make sure your air bypass valve is holding boost, Just blow into it and see if it holds. And if you rule out all those things, You might need a new turbo. But i would doubt it if its not smoking or leaking oil.

is there anyway you can record the ticking noise? I forgot to ask that. That would be helpful
