This was in the road racing/autocross section, I was just wondering if anyone knew this. And is there a way to determine what rear end gear you have via body/axle codes?

87-88 turbos 3.9 LSD
89+ 3.73 LSD

As for the hp question, keep throwing hp at it til it breaks, then get a used one cheap...

Every time I talk to toyota about my project they say oooo your motor can't handel any thing over 70 whp above stock. Same thing, I have seen plenty of 400 hp supras doing just fine. I think that they come from a stand point of reliability over the tuning qualities of the car.

they probably get told to say that so you think you have to upgrade your engine or other stock parts on the car making them more money, ive seen a supra 500+ whp and it was doing just fine...
