Painting My Mouldings..
well, today i went on a search for side mouldings at an auto wrecker about 10 minutes from where i am. i was able to find part of what i needed.. the ones for the door and the little ones just behind. i still need the ones in front, for an 87 in good shape if anyone has any. anyways, the smaller ones match the color of my mouldings but the door ones are a blue color and its going to be noticable.. and also the blue one has a couple scuff marks on it. i was thinking of spray painting them, but, how would i do this so they dont crack as the weather changes? maybe put some special kind of paint on first, then the silver color, then clear coat? rubber addative? i have no idea.. im no good at painting. any advice/ ideas or anyone who has done this, help would be much appreciated... also, im worried about the rusting of the holes.. i was thinking of just putting the one front bolt on for the doors.. and using double sided tape to hold them on.. so i can have stonegaurd covering the holes underneath? would double sided tape be strong enough? help me out!

this is what i did, sandpaper the whole thing first, you can even use body filler to make it look smoother, but you dutn have to do that
use primer first, cuz paint dosent stick to the surface to easy it might on most of it , but you want a perfect job, i used the duplicolor brand paint, and clearcoal, they seem to stay there without cracking i painted mine blue in the middle ,and white on the sides

o almost forgot, double side tape wont help for shit, neither does moulding tape, i use some kind of glue that can bond with metal and plastic and also be used as a sealant
you can give gorilla glue a try, and when you do it , push it into place and hold it till it dries cuz its gonna pop if u dont
