I'm here to GLOAT!!!!
Well not really...just thought that would capture everyones attention...lol.
Actually I just want to say that today I purchased another Toyota Supra turbo. Its an 1988, auto, body rust, but my whole moms side are mechanics, it has command start, working TEMS struts, the hood and trunk stay open by themselves....don't laugh, my 1987 needs a 1 1\2 foot piece of rebar for the hood brace...lol. It had two owners before me, and the original owner drove it for 2 years, then the guy I bought it off of got it. He took care of it, but was not able to keep in in a garage (He has always been a batchler, and lived in small apartment complex's), so he gave up about 5 years ago on rust prevention...he couldn't keep up. It has the leather interrior....**drule...*drip* *drip*.... so that car, the 88 will become my parts car, and it will make my 87 into the machine it deserves to be. Oh yeah, 63,000kms (not miles) ago, he did a $5,000 engine swap, he WAY overpayed, but hey, it was obviously done right. Once I am done taking everything off of the car that I need, I will update my previous post in the parts section of the forum to reflect the parts still available, and how much they will be for. However I don't really want to gain that much in a monitary amount, I honestly just want to let others better their supra's by letting them have parts for cheap. And since the engine in the 88 is newer, runs WAY better....I will more than likely have a FULL 7M-GTE (With the turbo) for sale. It would need a rebuilt, and some hoses need to be replaced (I just did a backyard job on the coolant transfer hose on the back of the engine, near the firewall) Well keep looking for that update...should be in about 2-5 months. |
Oh yeah, I payed $1,500 for it. and thats canadian...so that would be about $1,100 US.

thats very kind of you do uhave thae papers that shows the 5,000canadian engine swap...that is pricey. ya i think most would take that deal....1100 for a parts car that runs really good(if you were looking for a parts car and had money). you could just use the parts car as your DD (daily driver) until you do the swap. |

Please could you be more specific? I so far have done nothing more than change spark plugs, and oil, and flush the coolant, repair hoses, and check my error codes by myself. Now if you meant the converting from Canadian to US funds...yes I did. I didn't look at the conversion rate...so I guesstimated |
