WTF major turbo/boost issues
Ok so me and my friend were bored so we decided to go and venture for a spot light we saw, we end up rolling up to this 98ish integra and he thinks he sweet sh!t, revs his engine so I was like ok good for you, then he starts to try and mess with my by getting real close so that pissed me off so I down shifted to second (going 35mph) and gun it, its all going fine until my car starts to jolt back and forth and the engine light comes on, so I throw it out of gear real quick, rev the engine alls fine, try and gun it again and the same sh!t.
For some reason when ever my car gets 6lbs of boost it doesnt know what to do and jolts really bad like its trying to stall. I currently have it set to 15lbs and this is that first time its done this to me, I was thinking that maybe I need some new fuel injectors because its not getting the proper fuel/air ratio. Im going to replace them monday however either way. Any ideas? |
i certainly hope you have the fuel support for 15psi
as for how you are managing 15 im not sure, either you are very very stock which i'm sure you can't get to 15 either or you have a fuel cut defender in any case the cause of your problems is a boost leak, fix that and you car won't jolt and only boost to 6psi |
the car does that because there is a boost cut. it is set to about 15 psi from the factory. the light turns on for about 3 seconds then turn off. there are some companies that have a "boost cut defenser" that gets rid of that. i also heard that you can home brew a boost cut eliminator thing.

fuel cut is not at a specific psi on the 7mgte, it uses a karman vortex air flow meter which fuel cut is then derived by frequency, generally it will be at 1500hz or for easier understanding at a certain air flow it will cut
fuel cut will change with everyones car, with a lot of air mods (intercooler, turbo etc) it will be much lower than stock for him to be boosting at 15psi i would assume he already has a fcd and as i said previous i hope he has the fuel to support it as the stock ecu can't supply the fuel for that if you do a diagnostic you should find code 34 if you are hitting fuel cut abnormal turbocharger pressure :) |
