89 7mgte question..
Hey guys, I sold my Z28 finally and just bought a 1989 turbo for 2,000.00 The guy was so nice he threw in an extra motor and turbo,, but anyways a couple quick questions, I need to know the name of the part that connects at the air intake of the throttle body its like a round tube, it is cracked in the middle and causing a huge amount of air to enter the intake and causing the car to die.. Also the turbo gauge does not work, neither does the gas level... Other then that she runs great, the new motor has less then 15K on it so I will have some fun no doubt...

That hose is a 'dealer' item, and very expensive. You may be able to fab one up with something from the hardware store, or a place like Pepboys or Autozone.

yeah you can make your own custom intake pipe realatively cheaply by getting the needed parts from any auto parts store. Tubes, couplers, hose adapters, MAF adapter, and cone filter. Fab up a nice intake and it will not only solve the problem but look good and breath better as well.

How is it compared to the camaro? haha. On the n/a intake its 2.75 on the TB and the MAF is 3". Not sure on the turbo. Easiest way to boost power is a whole turbo back exhaust and a manual boost controller. Should be good for about a 50 hp gain lol. Not bad for a few hundred $$. There is plenty of info on modding the mk3 turbos here, I would even go as far as to say there is standard guidelines everyone follows, And actual written out "guides" or lists. So its all well laid out for you. Just search for it!
