... yea ... better to back down at this stage cos he's so scared of being beaten. Define humiliation ... ? It's 30 bloody $'s. From a few posts up, you can't get into the quater mile track for $30. And then there's fuel to get there and back. Dude he's actually getting a bargain here. With that post you must never drag. Not worth the ordeal of maybe losing a race. Damn who don't race unless they know they'll win - the only thing worth defeating is the thing that can defeat you, fuck the rest. Don't be impolite and refuse to race tho ...

So I bought this old Honda bike, an NSR250. Bit of a street racer, I guess. I'm told they're fast. Delivering it home with a friend driving the Supra for the first time. I drop gears and make a scream from the twin pipes flowing down this pony's flanks and it takes off like it's tail's on fire. I look back when the Honda gets to its tap-out and the Supra's only two lengths behind. No one I've let ride my bike has told me its slow, they've all loved the thing. That car is a good thing indeed. |

Yeah i say just race him and fuck it. Better to lose than to not race at all. I dont mind losing. If you lose, your car probably cost a lot less and is a lot older anyway. lol.

hey ok lol watever that guy said about winning by 2 1/2 car lengths..LOL. is he joking? i have my 88 turbo. stock. short shifter only. my buddy has a 3000gt some mods. all bolt on..nothing huge. and yes its stick. and i put him to shame everytime we race. straightaways turns wherever. ive raced him to 130..smoked him..badly. trust me man even with the n/a ull have this. and if there are even any slight bends in the road..better for u. those things are slugs around the turns.. and they catch wind like its there job. u will deffinatly have this race. i say put 60$ down. ill mail u the extra 30 if u lose.

I beat one. Easily. I'm N/A. He was about 5-6 carlengths behind me at the end. I was only running off of 5 cylinders at the time. You should get him.

i have never been in a auto supra
but here's my best bet does the autos have numbers under the D in the shifter, drop it down to the lowest gear thats the best way you can launch your car our cars hav a good launch off the line but the problem is keeping the pace it does tend to lag during higher speeds especially the n/a and keep a positive mind if you keep thnking your gonna lose you already lost to yourself b4 u even start the car

well.. i saw an auto 3000GT.. with Borla exhaust, K&N Intake, and a racing underdrive pully.. it ran a 16.7 in the 1/4 mile.. or there was another auto 3000gt that had exhaust, intake, underdrive pully.. and also a 55 dry shot of nos, that ran a 15.8? there not that fast.. so obviously that extra 22hp doesnt do much?

Frostburn, Theres a big difference between specs and which car is actually faster. So unless you have raced either car against the other, i would say dont discourage him. Sure, specs help, But there is a lot of variables that you could never calculate on paper. One advantage youll have is the auto launch, and he is front wheel drive. Thats an inate traction advantage right there. Aside from many other things

The guy in the 3000GT was really cool i said i didn't want to race for money anymore and he was kinda disappointed since i made him drive a really long way to get to the road we were gonna race on. He said that was alright and said that he was gonna take it easy and wasn't gonna lauch and some other stuff about differential explosions from hard lauching. we raced on a road with a bump in the middle i picked it because i knew he would take me up top so we only got up to like 60-65 before shutting down. I had a really good launch and took off on him since he pretty much didn't launch it at all but he was already pulling on me by the upper end of 1st gear. He granny shifted it into second and caught up to me at about 45mph then he walked away slowly. My front bumper was at his door at 60ish and he was walking away from me faster. Then we had to slam on the brakes for the bump. We talked for a while and he gave me a ride in it and he is a really good driver he just didn't push it as hard as he could for the race since he doesn't like to beat on it all the time. Told me that he granny shifted second and i know he did cuz he was just messing around and pounded second and spun the tires and he deffinately didn't when we raced. It was soo much fun!!!
All you guys must have raced automatic 3000gt's because this one was definatley faster than an auto supra NA or a stick shift supra NA i have driven both now. I also looked at his odometer and he has almost 152,000miles on it i asked him about it and he says that the engine has never been rebuilt. Only mods on the 3000GT are cat-back exhaust, open element air filter, ACT 2600 racing clutch. only weight reduction was 1/4 tank of gas and spare tire removed. I beat a manual 3g, But my car is also manual, Must be the reason. Youd have to actually race him. Our supras dont feel as fast as some cars because the power delivery is very smooth and linear. Like i raced a v6 mercury mystique, Beat it by a bit. I rode in the car beforehand, It feels an assload faster than my supra. I thought for sure i would lose. Against the 3g, I knew you would have an off the line/traction advantage...but the auto does steal a lot of hp I can beat them outright thou lol. All stock n/a. There not very fast cars. Cept the vr4s. lol. Just get a few mods, and hes all yours.
