Default painted sawblades

anybody that painted thier rims b4,
what brand or type of paint did you use?
any clearcoat needed?
was the stock rim paint stubborn to be removed?

I painted my stock wheels black with krylon all purpose paint, which is good for inside or outside use. First i removed the paint with aircraft remover which works great usually about two coats of that will get all the paint and grease off. I painted them black and the next day went over them with one coat of clear and they look great and they don't chip at all!

this is what i got

the aircraft paint remover works beautifully, jus be sure to get it covered
then it came off like paper, no brushing , i just rubbed it with a towel

and then the rest in the nucks and cranny i jus used a garden hose to flush em out

after that, the hardest was laying the tape down since the wheel is round and the tape doesnt curve pretty good

so i cut out a lot of 2 inch tapes and meticulusly made a curve
it wasnt the best but it did the job

its not enkei or hart rims
but this is pretty good to me
for 40 bucks i can have breathe new life to my rims

i also painted the center cap chrome, its not the best chrome job it looks like a very shiny silver paint but you get the chrome effect

niiice!! i like now.. you need pics with it on a car, and.. u should take a pic with the center cap on if its dry maybe paint where it says toyota on the center cap, black? might be hard tho. good job also.. i take it the black paint isnt that even around the edges? because you had to tape it? wonder if there would be any way to avoid that.. hmm

thats the color that i wanted for the center cap but they ddnt have it

the lip wasnt painted at all, it was jus the polishd aluminum that gave it that chrome look

and it looks better than the spray-on chrome,
you could paint the rims blue and have the lip

the paint is around the rims, but there's jus sum rough edges thats hard to avoid since this wasnt a professional job

all i had was sum masking tape and spraypaint,

but this was s first try

i can always do it again, paint removal wasnt so hard
