Is it possible to fill the w-58 transmission oil through the shifter or do you have to do it through the side of the transmission?

i believe you fill manual transmissions through the shifter hole :)

Actually there is a fill hole on the side of the transmission. I think it is a 17mm plug. You fill it until it runs out that hole. That is the correct level, so if you do fill it through the shifter hole like suppra_girl says, make sure that plug is out so you fill it to the correct level. You could fill it through the hole on the side but you have to have the car up pretty high to get a filler tube in that side hole.
