Final Muffler Decision
alright, im going to order a muffler tommorow, i was looking at getting a flowmaster 40 series.. 2.5 inch in and out, thats the stock size right? my cat is removed.. you think this is going to sound good? or do you reccomend something different? i really dont want a shitty sounding exhaust.

Or what I have. Homemade! 3in straight pipes no cat. Sounds like its cammed out. well made too. The guy I got it from knew what he was doing. Also,No muffler on mine. Just an immatation can thing. Ill get pix!LOL

haha, i dont plan on spending $600. i just want a muffler. if i had the money i would but i dont. you should get a sound clip of your car :D

I actually ran my car with no muffler and it isnt even that loud lol. I think it is because my cat is plugged up. Right now i have one of the cheap magnaflow 2.5/2.5 mufflers. Its rather annoying. The flowmaster 40 sounds nice. And the stock size is 2 1/4 or 2.25, I have a meinike 2.5 inch(cheap) catback. It works well. Picked up a little power. I wan to get the cat removed, Then it should be a lot louder and gain a few hps.

well i saw a video clip and it has me looking at the Megan GT Muffler.. 2.5" inlet, this will go on to my stock pip right? i think i might see if i can order one, it sounds soo good on the stock pipe with no cat. :D

Show me the sound clip. And it will fit over your stock pipe, But i dont know how tight. Just get an adjustable stainless clamp from pepboys. Or just weld it.

well, i bought something different lol. i got a magnaflow muffler.. looks like this, and it came with the tip in the picture.. 14" body, 2.5" inlet. just have to install it. i didnt want the opening to be to big, or else it just looks dumb.

Im getting my cat removed sometime this week. Ill make a sound clip/video before and after. And then again when i get rid of my 25$ magnaflow

I have a video of mine at the drag strip. No cat at all.However the car didnt run well cuz I noticed a boost leak.and It needs a LOTof tuning. My car sounds like its cammed out too. LOL I just need to get it from my friend.

cool post it when your done. I just hooked up my egr valve directly to the gas tank/charcoal canister vaccum port, And my car seems to run better actually, But it idles loopy like a big cam v8. Im gona leave it alone for now but plug it in when i go for inspection and drag racing. The egr gas actually lowers the combustion temperature so it helps a little on detonation. What muffler/exhaust are you using azn?

i dont understand this whole egr thing, could u explain what i do to do whatever you did? it actually makes a sound difference? im gonna put my muffler on tommorow :)

Well its not something you want to do, Unless your egr doesnt work. Look on top of the motor. There is a round thing at the back of the intake manifold with some vaccum lines. Thats the egr modulator. Im not sure how you test it, But i know mine wasnt working because of my emissions numbers. It makes a sound difference cause its pumping exhaust back into the motor, so it puts and spits some. I just did it to see if my egr passages were clear, But it seemed to make the car run a little better, Which means mine probably wasnt working before hand.

hmm.. why wouldnt i want to take it off if its working? i have no emissions law here yet :D
