What is the parts name that goes around the car? It’s a rubber peace. I think it’s for door bumps from other cars. Does anyone know what’s it’s called.

...and it costs an arm and a leg and maybe a testicle if you go to the dealership.
|
thats true.. go look at autowreckers in your area, see what you can find.. make sure they arent rusty tho.. if you need them for your car. or clean them up and spray them with rust paint if there not that bad
|
Ok. It costs $600 for the full set of trim from the dealership. 89+ taillights cost 208 each, and doorhinges cost 114 for upper and lower hinges per side.

damn why so much from a dealership,
what happend with the original that came with car anyways |
ive read the pre 89s had a metal backing and they tend to rust. the 89+'s had a plastic backing
|
yup that true
got a na 88 it has the metal backing but that molding is not gonna stay there for long |
i think the trim on mine has been in the sun too long. it has stretched and is peeling off the backing. thats the problem im having...i dont see any rust.

If it is just falling off due to rust its very easy to fix. Some of mine was falling off/bulging due to rust.
What you do is take the entire strip off that is rusted, clean off the rust out with a screw driver or something that you can scrape all the metal off with. Then you go but a can of "One Step" or primer to keep any rust from coming back, or running down if it rains ect. Then you silicone it back on, I used blue painters tape to keep it in place for atleast 24 hours. Then finaly you take some black silicon and fill in the top and botton to keep water from going under it. That is the way to go if you can't afford all new stuff. I will say it looks a lot better than it did, but its not 100% perfect because I was in a rush and didnt clean all the rust out. |
