you can put extra catalytic converter in the exhaust

thats what we do here, i know a lot off pple that puts 4 cats in thier exhuast so they will pass emisions
then jus takes it out and uses a full straight 3"

Default Look see

When I lived in Cali (my first 22 years) they actually look under the hood. If they see an engine that doesn't belong like a 1JZ then it would never pass clean or not. You might be able to get by if you put the 7M-GTE sticker in the front in place of the 1J, Im sure most mechanichs doing smog prolly couldn't tell the difference anywayz. Arizona they just hook up to your tailpipe and check your gas cap. If it burns clean it would pass there.
