I don't know if this will help but I had some communications with this guy, his name is Matt Junker Phone 909-229-7701 location LA. Very knowledgeable and helpful chap, he had a recondition 7M-GTE engine available a few weeks ago before I decided to rebuild my own engine. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...f/Engines4.jpg

www.osakajdmmotors.com i bought my engine from there. runs great and cost 700 and shipping is either 200 or 300 but could depend on where you live. they are in canada. my engine took a little longer than expected for shipping due to customs but got here and everything was fine.

how long have you had your engine (in the car running)? does the engine look like it was treated well? i am curious because these engines seem like a good deal to me and are cheap too. anything we should know when ordering? do's dont's?

edit
just noticed they labeled the 1jz and 2jz engines as GTTE's...

tone loc 08-15-2006 02:18 AM

does anyone else know any good reliable sites for buying these engines? I dont want to get scammed.

Supra2NR 08-15-2006 05:32 AM

im gonna jus get a n/a engine

this sucks but i gotta get my car out back in the street a.s.a.p.

i would like to know about your engine as well how long have you had that engine?" is it "clean"? and everything on the picture came with your engine?

what did you need to replace? what did you have to put on from the old engine?

justin1642 08-15-2006 01:08 PM

the site isn't a scam i had my engine in for 6 months + now and the only things i had problems with were hoses like i said earlier cuz you don't know how long they have been sitting. so i replaced a few and the engine runs great has lots of power doesn't shake when idleing it is a great engine and i have recommended them to a few of my friends and they also have bought engines. the only thing i regret is not getting the 1jz for $100 more than 7mgte but it didn't come with ecu and wiring harness and all that so. but yeah my engine runs great just make sure you break it in and don't drive hard right away cuz you could blow it. baby it for a month or so to ensure the daily driver will last.

justin1642 08-15-2006 01:14 PM

yes what you see in the picture on the site is what you get. the engine is very clean when you recieve it. i used my orginal wireing harness and i believe thats about it i just took off the old O2 sensor from the old engine too keep. and just make sure you pay attention to detail if you plan on doing swap yourself their are lots of sensors and vaccum hoses and make sure to match them all up. you just call the number to order they don't do online transactions and when they ship they give you a tracking number to track it and i believe they used Yellow Freight when i ordered.

osaka is a good site. thats where i got mine from and it runs like a champ. whatever you do DO NOT use japandomesticmotor.com they screwed me on a motor set before i got my 7M

was this a question for me?
if it was,
the engine is still clean
got a cold air intake done to it

and im guessing,
it needs
rods, pistons, crankshaft
