I dissagree....kinda
Well all oils DO lubricate, but if that was the only thing you needed, we would all put KY Jelly into our engines, and ALWAYS be lubricated. We all know that lubrication fights friction, and friction causes wear, and failure.
However oil also fights heat, and synthetic oils help alot. I just wanted to say that, because I wanted to type something...lol. So really it DOES matter, and we all know it. Just keep the sythetics flowing! |
royal purple VS redline
anyone uses royal purple or redline products in their supra? i've heard alot of good reviews for both, but fairly expensive about $10 per quart

The previous 3 owners of my car have always used Valvoline Max Life 10w-40 in this engines...so I use the same. Seems to work ok.

I agree. I have run nothing but royal purple on a few turbo'd civics that I've owned and just the oil changeover has gained me 15-30 horses . I use Lucas for my trans though. I think the price is well worth paying if it makes your car run more efficiently and safely. I pay the price but figure, fawk it I waste money on reefer so i can treat my car to a treat every couple thousand miles!!

oil
I use the Walmart Supertech in my Tahoe and my Sentra.
Strictly Royal purple in my Supra $6.49QT locally. $5.50qt when I can get the homeboy hook-up! |
