The 3000GT, and the Nissan 300ZX parts are more expensive. And these cars have just as many problems as a MKIII.
ie: 300zx Injector is $330 list at Carquest. Putting it in is a WHOLE lot of work. MKIII list is $260. Remember....most of these cars are old, and have been pushed hard at times. True, you may find any of these cars that were owned by someone who hardly drove it, and may be in really great condition. I do know that a modded 3000GT twin turbo will 'kick ass' on a modded MKIII. I own an MKIII and love driving it every day. BUT....when I was selling cars at the Dodge dealer back in '99, a guy traded in a 3KGT. I 'test drove' it up on the freeway. I always watch the tach, and stay about 500rpm below redline (I don't want to break 'em. When getting on the freeway, I went to shift into 3rd just below redline, and glanced at the speedo............. 90 mph. WTF ??? I started looking for cops. The car had 6sp manual. I took it right back. I knew I would NOT be able to contain myself it I continued to drive it. As a salesman, and a tech for ever, I've driven many, many cars, Corvettes (stock and heavily modded), Mercedes, Fiats, MKIVs, Porsches, all the Jap makes, BMWs etc. A 3KGT TT is a bad ass car for the $$$. But look for something VERY clean, and low mileage. Car insurance will be higher on the 3KGT.

[QUOTE=kwnate]Maybe on your modded NA auto...QUOTE] I meant, ANY modded MKIII. As I posted earlier...and this is a true story... ....when I was selling cars at the Dodge dealer back in '99, a guy traded in a 3KGT. I 'test drove' it up on the freeway. I always watch the tach, and stay about 500rpm below redline (I don't want to break 'em. When getting on the freeway, I went to shift into 3rd just below redline, and glanced at the speedo............. 90 mph. WTF ??? ....... I was doing 90mph just below redline...in 2nd gear....!!!! I think the car was a 1995 or 96. We gave him $19k trade-in. The car sold that week for $31k.(it wasn't me. darn it, fat commission) I love my MKIII, and can afford it fine. But some people have lots of $$ to put onto a car, and if going insanely fast is what you want, an MKIII is not it. To me its about enough power and handling to have fun on the mtn roads, and a really good looking car. To others its about a drag race feeling. It all comes down to $$$, and how much thrill you can get for it.

I'm talking...INSANELY fast. Apparently you have not gone 180, 200, or 230 mph in a drag car. Its a RUSH !!! Also... http://auto.consumerguide.com/Auto/U...arreviewspecs/ Stock specs of the 3kgt All 3000GTs from 1991 to 1996 used a 3.0-liter V6 engine with dual-overhead camshafts. A normally aspirated version went into base and midrange models, developing 222 horsepower (218 in '97). The hottest model, the VR-4, got a twin-turbo rendition that made 300 horsepower (increased to 320 for 1994) Stock ...MKIII...N/A = 200hp....Turbo = 230hp. Like I said, I love my car, and plan on keeping it for a very long time. Its a pleasure to drive. But, as you may have (or not) noticed, I NEVER have to swear, or call anyone an idiot. Those ways of communication speak "volumes" about the knowledge, age, and experience of the speaker. I just have lots of car experience....40 years to be precise. And I have lots of experience researching the facts, too.

Good things = The styling is way ahead of its time, its a lot faster, throw bigger turbos on it (say 13gs) with supporting mods and you have an 11 second 400+whp street car in 100% street trim ![]() I have a friend that has both and says they're both good at what they do because the Supra is more fun to drive sometimes b/c of RWD, but the VR4 is fast and fun because the AWD pins you back in your seat. I like my friend's Supra because its sooooooo easy to work on compared to my Stealth (TTs are harder to work on) but I dunno which one I'd pick... 3S = Nicer interior, nicer exterior, faster, shit breaks, expensive parts, hard to work on, higher value.
