Getting my head machined
I was just wondering how long it usualy takes to get a head machined by someone. I need my car for school so I need to see if I have to get my 77 nova running again.

If the head is off, then a day or two at most, but if they have to pull it off too, then maybe a week, because of the time it take to do stuff in a shop.

Just ask around for the best machine shop in your area. 7M heads are long, aluminum, and have bucket style valve adjusts. Not many like them, so the machinist must know what he's doing.
Also, make sure they pressure check it for cracks, and resurface it.
