Default very strange oil reading

I was looking at my dipstick before changing my oil. the oil was super clean on the stick, When I drained the oil, it was black as night WTF?? plus I have a very slow oil drip coming from the passenger side near the filter......

Maybe the oil just looked clear against the dipstick? unless you were looking at it like...in a bucket and it was really black, like old oil black. Try the dipstick now and see what it looks like that it is changed. And get that oil leak taken care of lol, Oil leaks are bad.

its because the oil was thin (thin meaning a thin layer of oil) on the dipstick. so thin that you could see through the oil to the shiny dipstick. when you drained it all the oil is together and makes it look darker.

actually it was because the car was more then a quart low on oil, now I changed it and the reading is perfect. But I'm still not sure where the oil leak is, I checked the turbo and there is no oil drippage from it, or excessive oil in the turbine. looks like it is coming from where the oil filter is, its not a bad leak, just some drips here and there.

See if its on all the way, lol. And also replace that. You probably know already, but in case...Changing you oil filter and oil itself is very important with a turbo, For both the engine and the turbo. Also get a big oil cooler like for a tow truck. But keep it bolted to the radiator, Because you dont want it to get tooo cold when its cold out. Also its important to let the turbo warm up before you rev it any, Like let it run for a min before you drive. I dont know how turbos survive at all, All those rpms and how hot it gets lol.
