I'm 19 going to be 20 in Nov. This is my second supra, I have a mk3 auto n/a 90' that im debating on how to get rid of it. And i have now a 87' turbo 5-speed which blows my last one clean out of the water and it's currently getting a MHG job done.

Before that I owned 2 maximas lol. A 95' auto Maxima SE, and then my baby was a 97' Maxima SE 5-speed supercharged with borla exhaust and K&N intake. That car was the fastest car i've ever driven. FWD maxima pumped out about 298 bwhp and 311 lbs/torque. I don't have the dyno because it was with the car when i sold it.

But that has been departed and now I'm a huge supra fanatic. Turbo deffinetlybetter then the s/c IMO and im ready to get this thing back to stock and perfect running condition then really pump out the ponies. The 97' maxima stock in a 5-speed ran 0-60 in the same time the turbo supra did, so ive been here before with the bottom end power, but the turbo deffinetly takes the cake after it gets going.

BP907MGTE 10-20-2006 03:43 AM

im 17, i own a 90t and love it

XtreeX 10-20-2006 05:43 PM

Well im 6'7" and play ball so the 4 doors is nice, and its even nicer seeing a grocery getter smokin alot of cars on the streets. The sleeper effect is well endowed in the Maxima. But as much as i love that car i love the supra that much more.

smoo215 10-20-2006 07:17 PM

26 n lovin the ride

stevanom 10-21-2006 04:40 PM

dang you're tall, you play college ball?

XtreeX 10-23-2006 04:08 PM

Yea, I graduated highschool in 05' but in 04' was injured and taken off the rankings which i was top 50 in state. I took a year off and now play Junior College ball for RVC in Rockford, IL and have already had several offers to a few D1 schools and lots of D2 schools.

Boostesi 10-24-2006 04:58 AM

im 18 ive had 4 mitsubishi starions, a grand am, a dodge daytona, hyundai elantra, nissan altima, honda civic SI and now a supra...

volto 10-24-2006 07:05 AM

Im 22 and ive had my supra for about 4 years.

brandonsupra 10-24-2006 07:38 AM

20 here, had my girl for about 9 months now. This car is lucky I love it, because I could be rich if I didn't have it! lol

Things I've done to it so far after market wise:
- Tokico adjustable gas shocks (all 4, $450)
- new toyo tires (all 4, $900 installed/balanced/aligned)
- racing brake pads (all 4, $500)
- new calipers (all 4, $500)
- new drilled+slotted racing rotors (all 4, $600)
- Apexi turbo timer ($100)

Things I've had to replace on the car:
- brake light sensor ($350)
- rear passenger marker light
- hood struts
- headlights (if that counts lol)

Things about to go wrong/need replacing soon :'(
- transmission requires a complete rebuild. That or a brand new one which is the same price. ($2800 installed)
- steering rack&pinion ($850 installed)
- exhaust leak getting worse down near the manifold somewhere...haven't got this checked out yet
- gradual loss of coolant. (showing no other signs of BHG yet, though I don't think it's been blown yet.)
- starts rough cold with a high idle until it becomes warm
- it's recently been making a wierd tin sounding whine, friends have suggested throttle body problems. I haven't had this checked out yet either.
- obvious slowwwww oil leaks, but that's common. I don't lose enough to care about yet.

So yeah, I've been or am about to go through hell and back with this car. Hopefully at the end it will be worth it. I have also heard that a crack in the throttle body could be a reason for loss of coolant and the reason I'm hearing a weird noise while it's cold.

I am 46 (f) and refuse to grow up ! I have owned an 89T, 89NA, 91NA and now proudly own a 91T with level 4 mods completed. I wouldn't drive anything other than a MKIII Supra.

Staceman 12-02-2006 11:11 PM

I'm 37. Been a toyota fan for 20 years. I rebuild 22R(E)'s for fun, both 2WD and 4WD trucks. My 4x4 is an '85 4Runner, with lots of home built mods. Just picked up an 88 Turbo, Targa, Auto. Gotta be auto and seat 4 for Wife's request. She can't drive the 4Runner, let alone even get in the damn thing.

mr.w 12-03-2006 09:17 PM

I'm 19, I just bought my first Supra a week ago and I'm getting the HG fixed. Before the Supra I owned an 85 Pontiac Fiero and a 93 Honda Civic, wich got wrecked by a deer. My Supra is an 87 pearl white 5spd targa top with a turbo.

jfunez 12-04-2006 05:07 AM

wow...the deer was driving the darn Civic? that must be awful trying to explain what happened to the insurance company..lol

sorry..... I guess i read it wrong..

sportriderseattle 12-04-2006 05:44 AM

39 years young! Don't worry youngin's... age is totally in a persons mind. I still feel like I am 22. This is my 2nd MKIII. My First I just sold a couple months ago, it was an 86.5 n/a (of course), now I have the '87 T, which I have no plans to sale, unless I can find an ultra low mileage and stock 91/92 T. My '87 has all factory options minus the leather interior (and thankfully no auto-trany).

marc 12-04-2006 11:44 AM

u have the exact same car as me, minus some of the aftermarkets

marc 12-04-2006 11:45 AM

and, it looks liek u dont have the light sprayers for ur head lights.

Isphius 12-05-2006 05:09 AM

20

I own a 1987 N/A auto. Someday I hope to Drive it more than 20 miles....

stevanom 05-27-2007 06:47 AM

Some day you will

Hi, no fear. Some day you will drive more than 20 miles with it and it will be worth it.
Only five months ago my ma70 was technically dead. All fuses blown, all lamps blown and all the electrical relays and control boxes blown. The only thing still good were the body and the engine was running.

Today it runs like a dream again, fixed with donor parts from a taffic accident victim ma70. Just some small things to be fixed.

If you just keep on going some dayu you will drive it for more than 20 miles.

Help is always available on this supra forum.

supradaddy0803 05-27-2007 11:56 AM

I am 28 bout to be 29 this year and I have owned 2 mark 3's. I bought my first from a guy in the military it was a 86.5 and I bought it when I was 20 and owned it till I was 24. Now I have a 87 with a 1JZGTE in it now and I bought about a year ago.

Thanks for the support. This forum's great, I already found out quite a bit about these cars. Everytime I browse here I find answers to questions I didn't even know I had. I just hope that "one day" will be sooner rather than later.

IHateHacks 05-28-2007 02:21 PM

Well the average age is up to 24 right now. And guess what, I'm 24. I've owned my 87T for 2 years now and have spent more time under the car or under the hood than driving it. I have only put 2,000 miles on it in 2 years.
