Cool Just waiting to shift

Ok I got an 87 supra 7MGE with an auto annd what to know wo things.

1. The converter dosnt lock up tell 110mph. Is this normal?

2. Is there anyway I can get a more agressive shift out of my auto.

Little bit of back ground. The car has about 118000 miles on it and i have no idea when the last time the tranny fluid and filter was changed. It is on my list of things to do but i havent mad it that far down the list yet thow.

not sure about torque converter lockup but this website will be extremely useful www.cygnusx1.net/supra
browse thru the auto sections and see what toyota says

you can adjust the line pressure up a bit to make the shifts a little harder but if your tranny is old and worn it will more than likely wear it that little bit faster
if you wanna spend money you could get an upgraded valvebody for it

Thumbs up how it works

Lock up torque converter should work like this:

With tranny botton in 'normal' under a mild acceleration, it should be in OD (4th gear) by 42mph, and lock up by 45mph.

In 'sport' mode, the speeds will be higher, as it holds each gear's shift points up higher in the rpm. But lockup should be engaged as soon as you level off to cruising speed.

In either position, If you are out of OD (in 3rd gear), lockup will happen at approx. 70mph.

It will NOT lockup in 1st or 2nd gear.

Well basicly what is happing is that when you get after it and it gose up threw the gears. When you get to right around 110 you can feel what is like one last shift. But under nomal driveing it is tacking like 2500rpm at 55mph and around 3500rpm at 80mph and i was wondering if this is all normal.

My n/a with the 4.3 diff tachs 2k @ 50mph, and 3k @ 80mph.
By watching my tach, I can see every shift, and when the lockup happens.
