to fix im not to sure

to take the old one off is pretty easy just take off the cover that is above the cluster and there is a couple more screws behinde that and then you unplug it and your done. (you might have to take out the center piece and were the fog light, light dimmer, defrogger swichs are to get to a couple screws.)

it should be easy to replace. you have to take off the center console piece, the foglight/defog piece. take the top cover off, about 6 screws if theyre all there, take off the screws you see now that are going into the white part of the cluster. unplug all the connector behind the cluster and disconnect the speedo cable. now just pull out. be careful when you work around the speedo cable cus that tip will break easily. i broke mine last week.

I think the drive cable or adapter are more at fault than the gauge cluster. The toyota gauges are very reliable, As far as them working correctly.

you can use part of this page to help you out
http://supra.co.nz/swap.htm

once you have all the screws from the other items undone you should be able to see all the screws that hold the cluster in

as you start sliding the cluster out you will need to unplug the harness as you go because you won't be able to pull it right out straight away
