Turbo upgrade questions.
87 MKIIIT. Spun a bearing (flew threw the oil pan and tore it, will get pics upon request) so I'm dropping in a JDM motor that I was given to by the previous owner. He bought it just to use the turbo off of it (which was bad!). The motors getting ready to be dropped in, I will be using stock internals and stock headgasket. I'm getting a good deal on a GReady T4 turbo kit from a friend of mine who was going to put it in his FC. I'm getting an FMIC/piping/turbo/BOV and boost controller. Timing belt looks good along with everything else, I'll be replacing several gaskets for preventive maintanence.
What else do I need to run the setup reliably? I'll be running very low boost, about 10 psi. Not looking to max the setup out, just push barely over stock. I'd rather get it now so I can upgrade it and max it out later when I get it running and drive it for a while. How will the stock headgasket/AFM/injectors/drivetrain/ECU hold up to this? Any advice on the setup? Thanks alot, -Slater

CHANGE THE HEADGASKET! The AFM should be fine, you might have to adjust the cog slightly.

turbo upgrade?
CHANGE THE HEAD GASKET! get a 2mm hks head gasket and arp head studs. if youre gona go for a bigger turbo, you should get a V8 AFM. you could get one from a LS400 or SC400. you need bigger injectors too and a good fuel pump.

when you upgrade the turbo, you are pushing in more air, and need the correct ratio of fuel. if this isnt meet you will prolly hit fuel cut off so upgrade fuel components, so fuel pump, regulator, injectors, are in your near future
