Supra JDM specs
This weekend I finally got around to compression testing my 89 Supra Turbo. I was told when I got the car that it had a JDM replacement engine with about 50K on it (I took it with a grain of salt) and rebuilt top-end with a metal head gasket (also a grain of salt). When I compression tested the car I got 180psi accross all six cylinders!! Is this normal for JDM engines? Hayes lists the standard as 140psi. If this is the case I'm wondering what other engine specs are off, I replaced the sparkplugs for the standard 7m-gte american model engine, but if the compression is up wouldn't I want to use higher heat range plugs? If any one could answer this question or post specs it would be greatly appreciated.
