Most of the good horsepower gains are in the heads, so work on that. Little bigger valve, play with the cam timing some and make sure the porting job is down right. Header, pipe and muffler should be low restrictive and a good air filter. Advance the timing as far as you can with the fuel you use and it will be better........enough........well who knows untill you find a challenge.

Two major diffrences in the two cars ( iwill be going with the turbo here):
1.The Engine: MKIII: 7MGTE 230HP stock MKIV: 2JZTE 340?HP stock 2. The body weight: MKIII Is a little to alot heavier...all metal body fenders etc...come to think of it the only parts that isn't metal is the bum-pers. LOL the MKIV had a mix between metal and fiberglass so it weighs lesss. I -prefer the MKIII's myself but its a mater of what you most like

well thanks!
thanks every body you helped me alot! i've decided to go with the mkIII. i was readin my local auto trader....(they should make a subscription service. i mean i buy it every week ) anywho alot of the cars have blown head gaskets. i am under the impression this is caused by running the engine too hard. i am also under the impression that before i start upgrading my mkIII i should make a few mods to insure the cars well-being, such as aftermarket clutch, aftermarket head gasket, etc.
would anybody be so kind as to tell me what would be some good parts like ^above to buy before i increase horse power? thanks, NewB |
