i was on my way to work taoday and my car just died. i turned the key and it tries to turn over but i get nothing. after i did that for a while i could smell a whole lot of gas. recently i have been getting a code 12, 14, 22, 43, and 51. i know my tps is bad, idk if thats the problem here or not. please help. this is my daily driver and i have no other way to get around. its a 1986.5 n/a manual

remembered another thing...when i shifted from 2nd to 3rd, my car jumped a little like the transmission stuck or something. it did the same thing from 3rd to 4th. then it died. a tried starting it with the key while it was rolling, nothing. and i tried popping the clutch out in 1st and it still didnt start.

hay yo check your coil this will make all these simtoms and all the plug wires
of the car to stall and die

try resetting the ecu and do a fresh diagnostic

have you unplugged the coil, ignitor, afm etc recently?

check your grounds also... lower intake manifold... make sure they've got good contacts :)

i had lots of oil in my #6 spark plug. so i replaced the valve cover gaskets, plugs, and wires. it runs great now. fix the problem i had with morning start up too. i know i need a new tps and i have it on order. every time i push in the clutch my rpms drop to zero and it dies. will the new tps fix this problem?

How do you reset the ecu?

.

the only way I know of is to pull the neg battery terminal for a couple minutes. Then reconnect

you can pull the EFI fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. this does the same thing without reseting your clock and any stereo equipment you might have. just pull the fuse for like 20-30 seconds and put it back in.
