Hi,
There are mutliple possibilites, but timing is not one of them. 1/ spark plug cables and ignition cables can be old and invisibly cracked, thus leading the spark away when cold. Normally you should be able to hold the cable in your hand whern the engine is running without feeling anything (try this with cold engine) 2/ spark plugs worn out 3/ cold start sensor out of order or : like I had : oxidated connection plug on the sensor 4/ injection computer blown. with these engines letting the starter run without the sparkplug cables in their place (often done for measuring compreesion or after replacing timing belt) or running with bad cables causes reflux of the jolt into the comuter and thus blowing it. 5/ oxidation pon other contacts. Try the simple things first! Success Steven |

Thanks Steven, I really apprecate the help. I just changed the spark plugs, but still doing the same thing. I am going to change the wires and check the cold start sensor, like you said.

ignition wires increase their resistance when temperature increases....so its a big possibility..

I replaced the ignition cables and the cap of the delco (? right word?) and my starting problems are over.
If your car continues to start badly : there is not only a cold start injector, but a cold start sensor (these MA70 are really full of sensors |
