Reccomendations? Mods-
I have a 87 Turbo 5-speed and I just got my water pump, timing belt, spark plugs and wires, head gasket, few hoses, and all oil leaks taken care of. I got around $200ish dollars to spend and was wondering if I should wait and get a full 3" exhaust, or get the Apexi intake, or HKS downpipe now.
Which one would be the most beneficial? I plan on doing all 3 at some point but probally wont be again til summer. So this mod will have to last through winter. Thats why i want the one that ill see the most gains with. Ill have money to get a nice, stainless steel, 3" catback system by the end of November. Or I could just buy the apexi intake or downpipe now. Will the downpipe work with stock exhaust? Or would the stock exhaust be so restrictive that itd be pointless to get that without a 3" exhaust. Thanks. |

One more concern... I know that i have to have a cat on my car and I plan to do some highway driving in the future... so would it be a bad idea to get a test pipe? I mean how many times does a cop pull someone over and check that? My only concern (i've had my fair share of tickets) is that I dont want to get in trouble anymore then I already am. So should i be worried about running a test/down pipe?
IF the answer to that is no, then ill just get this stage I kit for now. http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pric...s/Stage_1_Kits I'll probally get the Apexi intake though, versus the K&N. |
