Shift lock on automatics

I changed the brake master cylinder on my 89 NA Supra, put everything back in place but since then I have to use the shift lock over ride to get the car out of park.
I have scoured the manual and this site and have no idea how to either adjust it or repair it !
My throttle position sensor code is on, but I do not know if that has any effect on this !
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks !

Hmm the 87 N/A auto didn't have the shift lock mechanism so I am not sure. And you checked the linkage?

All I changed was the brake master cylinder.
Other than not going all the way to the floor, I had to change nothing ..

make sure the brake light switch is working properly and is hooked up, many cars have two switches on the brake pedal, Im not sure how many our supras have but there should be one under the steering wheel attached to the brake pedal....look for it and make sure they are hooked up.....

one thing to look for is...ARE YOUR BRAKE LIGHTS WORKING?

brake light switch is first thought. Fuse is another.
