I wish I could import...
Trust me I already thought about that... But it is very difficult... I would probably spend around 11,000 including car cost to get it here....

in my opinion it would just be easier to extend the wiring harness because if you don't and you go with the front clip there will be welding and drilling and such but if you just lengthen the harness there is only cutting and soddering. i did that with my JDM 7m and i'm not sure about 1Jz but to me it just seems simpler to make it longer

Rhd
To do the RHD swap correctly,
Things you will need: -Half Cut, When looking for one make sure to ask the person you are buying it from to send you pictures of the half cut and dash so you know you are getting one with usable part. -Door harnesses, switches -Rear Main Harness, seems like it would be easier to slice the harness, not true, just bye one and you will love yourself for it! -Center Console -E-brake and cable. -everything else is included in most half-cuts You will need to completely disassemble the entire front half of your car and the entire half-cut all the way down to nothing including the windshield(you will break it) you will also need to take out the seats(fron and rear) and all interior panels so you can access the rear body harness. Then you will need to start drilling. You will need to drill out something like 200 spot welds(I tried to use a special drill bit but just kept burning it up) some of them will be hard for you to find. You will need to cut out some welds as well. You must do this all around the firewall because you want to take it out as a complete unit. and it will be a pain. be sure to remember what parts you are using... you can hurt the firewall that you are taking out of your car but you do not want to hurt the metal around it. With the Half cut you can hurt all the other metal but you do not want to bend the firewall. When you finally have the firewall out i found that using an engine lift while putting the new one in my car way easier than trying to hold it there while welding. You must weld everywhere that you cut. Top side and bottom side. then paint and put undercoating on. then you simply put all the RHDs stuff on and leave the lhd stuff off. This is a PROJECT!!!! not just something you will do in a day. You will spend hours just drilling hole after hole. you need to be care full not to mix the parts. There will be parts everywhere. If it were not so expensive to import them i would most definitely suggest importing one. But, with that kind of expense if you really want to have one doing the swap is the way to go but just know you are getting yourself into a Ton of work. It will take you longer to do than you thought. and when you are trying to get specific parts from japan it can take months. If you want more info you can e-mail me at Martin_Dillingham@comcast.net Sorry i am kind of a rambler |

Nothing wrong with a bump if you're adding good info.... actually if the thread isn't huge and already full of bad info, it's beneficial as it reduces the amount of weeding through posts someone who is searching will have to do and it reduces the demands on site resources.
