damn problems

ok i have a 1988 supra non tubro automatic well i just got done with a headgasket job car runs good but whne we were doing the HG job we took out the egr system and it runs but not as good as it used to it idels and around town runs better but when u floor it now it dosent accelerte as fast and will only go 108 i got it up to 125 with that before we did this work the car has a slight exhasut leak and yester day came up with the engine trouble code 14 i no the auot transmission is old i want ot do a manuel conversion but i got beat by a v6 150 in a race the other day and that is sad i want me car ot be fast agin plaese help me
