Eletrical Problems
Hello folks. I sure would like to come to read all the posts instead I am in some bad times tring to figure this issue out. 2 weeks ago after I fixed the engine leak. My son took the car to his Girlfriends house to show her and I got a call at 1030 at night, Dad I was driving home and the lights in the inside of the car just sparked, and I lost power and had to pull to the side of the road and now the car wont start.
I told my son the lights inside never have worked since we bought this car. So i grab the tools and the jumper cables and go pick him up. Well the hazards work and the head lights work but the windows are stuck open and the car will not start not even a crank. So I tow it home and noticed that in the fuse box in the engine compartment the top left of the fuse box a wire that looks like it loops into the other side of the fuse is fried. so I go ahead and replace the whole fuse panel. Got lucky at a junk yard. And now i have power the windows go up and everthing works. even the clock that didnt work when we bought it now works. BUT THERE IS NO IGNITION NOTHING NOT EVEN A CRANK? I am trying to keep my son motivated. but we have had the car for about 5 weeks and he has driven it 5 times. By the way its a 1986.5 supra non-turbo Manual. Any ideas anybody. Thanks iin advance. its great that you came back and let everyone know the outcome of your problem. many people dont bother letting us know what happened, if it fixed it or not..... this way we can all learn from other's problems and what fixed it,......
