Replacing rear hatch lifts
Damn folks. It looks like I need to remove alot of interior panels back there to remove the existing toasted hydraulic lifts. Is this true? Anyone got some pointers? Thanks!
Just purchased last week. |

Those supports can now be bought aftermarket, ready to use, I've heard. 4 yrs ago, I had to use some 'similar' ones from Pepboys, $60 pr., and drill off the brackets, and use bolts to hold them to the new ones.
You can pop loose the interior trim pieces and reach in with a 1/4" dr ratchet and socket to remove the nuts. DON'T drop them !!

I already got-emDid the front hood ones, Just lookin for pointers on replacing the rear ones. A bunch of interior panels gotta come out it seems, to at least undo the original ones. New ones use a different mount, kinda like the fronts, but work great.
