Squeaky brakes

Exactly how tricky or easy is it to change the front brake pads on my Supra?

i.e. Do I need any special tools or is there anything special that I need to know or is it just a case of taking the old ones out and putting the new ones on?

Any help would be gratefully received :)

your gonna want a tool that will open the calipers so you can fit the new pads in but other than that its very simple. i think 2 bolts on each bracket and thats it.

Its actually one bolt and the caliper swings up. Make sure you compress the caliper piston with a c-clamp before you unbolt anything.

Also take note of the 2 anti-squeal springs that go inside the top of both the inner and outer pads and the 4 anti-squeal shims-2 for each pad. I bet you are missing at least 1 of either the shims or springs. My car was. And guess what, they're dealer only items.

Thanks for that :)

I bought some brake pads today so I'll be taking the wheels off tomorrow and have a good old poke about, very carefully of course!
