need help please
i just put a new tps on my car. new in the sense that i just got it, it has been used before. when i put it on and started my car, everything was fine. but when i rev the engine, itll hit 2000 rpms and cut out. when this is applied to when im driving, it hits 2000 in every gear then jerks violently and the rpms drop. after they drop, i dont get any response from the throttle at all. i push the gas and nothing happens. if i changed gears its ok until it hits 2000 rpms there too. do i have to do something to the tps to set it and get it working right or is it bad and i need to find another? this is my daily driver and the only means of getting my sister and i to work, so i really need to get this fixed fast. thanks for your help

actually, the two tps's were completely different. when laid sid by side the internals were rotated 90 degrees from each other. meaning the new one had no chance with lineing up with my throttle body. so i just bought the throttle body that the tps came from.
