http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...ion=EM&Page=32 you could do as said above and use engine oil drain plug aluminum gasket washers (any parts store). and not use the #3 gasket. Be sure to replace the #1 & #2 valve cover gaskets to keep oil out of the spark plug holes. (any parts store will have) Carquest part # GSK VS50049 $26 min to $49max

thank you for the url.... i got the books here too hehe... thanx anyway... well... can i do like you said... use some aluminum washers and some jb weld stuff. and put it back together and dont use the #3 gasket... (if i do this, i wonder how long it will last) i already got myself a napa valve cover gasket witht hose round seals too... i already got that.. about the #2 gasket... i dont see any oil leak and stink on the timing belt cover... and both of the upper camshaft seals are good too... does it mean that i have to replace the timing cover gasket too... or i dont have too... anyway thanx for price for the part and also the part # too... i check that out later... here is my past experience about the timing cover gasket... like a years ago.. i use to have a 5mge auto. and i do a 5speed conversion... also i do a 7mgte turbo on the 5mge... anyway... my upper two camshaft seals were leaking oil like sh!t... and my timing cover gasket wasnt leaking at all... but for me to be able to replace the two upper seals i gonna remove the timing plate... aka timing belt cover.. and i remove it and i replace the two seals and also the new timing belt cover gasket too... and then from that moment on... i keep having trouble with the timing belt cover gasket... i keep having oil leak on that plate... and i replace it often... so i'm not sure if the mk3 will be the same as the mk2 or not... but thats what i have it in the past on my mk2.... You should never use JB Weld, period.
Those oil plug gasket by themselves will work if you don't replace the #3 gasket. I've seen that most of the time the oil in the spark plug holes comes from the intake or exhaust cam cover gaskets. You need to put a little silicone gasket sealer on the corners up front. And put silicone on the front camshaft caps corners where the seals go. That's why you have the continued oil leaks on the timing belt back cover.

i wonder why not the jb weld...and how about the perma poxy or epoxy how you wanna call it... its like a clay thing.. you gonna mix together and sealed it.. well... which corner up front you talking about.. is it the timing back cover upper corner... is that what you mean... or which upper corner... this is what i did to my last timing back cover... i put up a new gasket and it leak... and i'm tired of it... so i decide to do a self custom gasket... and put it on... and yes i do use those black oil silicone from the toyota dealer... and it cost me about $20 for one little paste... and that paste is a half size from the little tooth paste only... and it stop my oil leak for a while... and then for about couple months later... its leaking again... i wonder why you said dont bother #3 gasket... huh? |

i got it done... it works fine now...
what i did to the #3 gasket... i get an rubber "O" ring from Napa Auto Part... and use the black oil silicone from the toyota dealer... and put it on... and now the #3 gasket is remove and there is no more oil leak... i let you guy know how long this set-up last up to alright... now my next problem... is my speed meter not working.... so i need to work on my speed sensor... cause its not working... |

Just make sure those 14mm allen head plugs are torqued to 13 ft/lbs.
