Default Motor and Tranny Oil question.

I heard that for turbo car you need to buy oil that says Turbo approved, but I always check for that and it never says anything about being turbo approved.Does it matter?

And also for Tranny oil I never find any Dexron II, only Dexron III. Does Dexron II go by another name? Or what tranny oil should I use?

I don't know anything about turbos ,but as for your tranny fluid you want the dexron III.All transmition fluids have reverse compatibility ,so dexron III is basicaly the newer version of tranny fluid and you wouldn't even be able to find dexron II.

Motor Oil depends on where you live really, and what conditions you're dealing with. It's a bit chilly from time to time where I live, so I use fully synthetic 10w-30. If you live in a hot climate 5w-30 might be the way to go. Quaker State or Pennzoil are fairly cheap and very trustworthy brands to use. I've heard from people on here that if your car isn't using sythetic it's best to switch it over. However, the addition of synthetic after long periods without can expose existing oil leaks. It's really your call...I have a turbo model and I've never used any oil that says "turbo approved," nor have I seen such a thing.

Auto tranny fluid is a one shot answer, ATF Dextron III. I would plan on having this tranny serviced regularly, change the filter and get the fluid flushed regularly. I say this because my tranny is only 180,000 kms old and it already needs a complete rebuild. Hope this helps some.
