Ok I had a feeling you did that.

What I do is, take a length of tape (about 2.5 inches long) and split it length wise in half, so you have a 2.5" long 1/4" wide piece instead of 1/2" wide.

Yes, it should be touching it. Since the throttle body is off, just look around while you move the linkage and see what is causing it not to touch the stop screw.

Default still no luck

I set the TPS coorrectly and I did what you told me to on the Temp sensor, and its still idleling pretty high. I heard that every time the TPS sensor is adjusted, your suppose to set timing again. The TPS sensor had been moved various times but I never did set it correctly till today. Can timing cause my high idle? I'm out of ideas.

Yes you must set BASE ignition timing after adjusting the TPS. You do know how to do that right? You don't just clip a timing light on and start moving the CPS. You must disable the electronic advance which is very easy.

If that doesn't fix your problem, the only other thing would be a vacuum leak, which are always fun to find.

How do you disable the electronic advance?
